Electrical Safety Inspections
When choosing the right electrician there are a few aspects that you should be aware of.
All electricians and installers carrying our electrical work, whether as an employer, employee or self employed person, must comply with the relevant requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations. In particualr, Regulation 16 of te UK national standard for the safety of electrical installations, BS 7671: 2001 (IEE Wiring Regualtions). This requires that all persons (other than DIY'ers) working on electrical installations must have appropriate technical knowledge and experience to prevent danger or injury.
*NOTE: In Northern Ireland, the Electricity at Work Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991 applies. These are issued by the Health and Safety Agency for Northern Ireland.
